E-learning is a cheaper and more convenient way that businesses can get their employees to learn new things. Explain the Benefits
Do not just send them a random email stating that they need to start e-learning. Make them know why it is crucial not only for the company but to them. Give them reasons to get excited about the e-learning by citing examples of people or businesses that have succeeded because they took up e-learning.
Tie It to Appraisal Goals
Employees always set their goals at the beginning of the year. Tie up e-learning to their goals and respectfully let them know that it is being aggregated. Have it as some of the things they need to have achieved when their appraisal is done. This is not supposed to be done in a way that intimidates them. Make sure you tell them that it all ties down to the company’s overall goals, and how they perform will determine how the company performs.
Start Small
One of the mistakes that businesses make when introducing employees to e-learning is overwhelming them with a lot of information. Do not make them regard the e-learning process as a chore by adding so many things at once. Do things in stages. Bear in mind the strengths and weaknesses of individual employees. There are some who are not very techno-savvy and will take longer to pick up the things being taught. Be patient and let them know that you are willing to guide them whenever they face challenges.
Have a Reward System
If you want them to adjust faster, have a form of reward system where the people who take up e-learning and complete certain modules are recognized. It could be through a certificate or a gift card. You can also write a staff communication email with a list of names of people who are faring well. People like being acknowledged and appreciated.
